I've never blogged before, but I have attempted to journal. Many encourage journaling as a way to express our deepest most thoughts, our questions, our reflections on life, and - for the Christian - a way to communicate with and learn from God. I've never had any luck with journaling by pen and paper, mostly because I get bored with how long that takes, but journaling online (thus typing) and putting it in a format for all to see, is something that gets me excited. Its way to share this life with others, a way to communicate who I am and what I have to say with the world, and hopefully - at least for me - a way to share my joy in the journey I'm walking with my Lord & Saviour.
The devotional blog for today from Proverbs 31 ministries (http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com) got me thinking more about my own blog and my own journey. The entry reflected on the slow change that happens in us all when we put our trust and future completely in the hands of the maker. Slow - how true. I'm never satisfied with how long things take … case in point my struggle to journal! But with God, all good things come to those who wait. He slowly but deliberately is crafting us all into His image, and there is joy in this journey. The joy isn't in the fact that being in His care means everything will go perfectly or pain-free, because it won't often be easy; but rather the joy comes in knowing that no matter what happens, I am in the palm of His hand. That nothing happens to me without His ok. And that, when I need it, I can draw on His strength to carry me through.
There is joy in this journey. And as I try my hand at e-journaling through this blog, I hope that you - the reader - will find that joy, know that peace and come to rest your journey in His hands.
