Day of Nothingness

Today, in honour of "Do Nothing Day," we decided to enjoy the sun (a rareity lately) and venture out to the Bloedel Conservatory at Queen Elizabeth Park. I realize it doesn't sound like "doing nothing," but instead of "doing nothing" (and in the spirit of making these days of celebration have a higher purpose), we wanted to find a way to put meaning into doing nothing.

So, we opted to put our efforts of "doing nothing" into an area of our life that is consuming us at this moment -- our future ministry direction. We think, pray and seek out God's leading for where He wants us right now daily -- hourly even. And the stress of it can often take it's toll. It seemed fitting then, to use this day as a break from all that. To use this day to "do nothing" about the need to find my husband a new place to serve. We chose to "do nothing" about looking for a job, talking about finding a job, etc., for one whole day. And it was glorious. ;-)

What did you do to celebrate today?

Tomorrow: "Ditch New Year's Resolutions" Day!
