The Day the Music Died

It seemed like an odd day to "celebrate," trying to find a fun way to celebrate the death of three "rock n' roll" stars of the 50s. But as it turns out it was kind of fun! I remember listening to my mother talk about the death of one of her music idols when she was a teen (Ritchie Valens), and today I spent some time listening to his music, along with the music of Buddy Holly the Big Bopper, as I worked. I even introduced my toddler to "La Bamba" (which I didn't know was Ritchie Valens song), and in so doing I felt like I was passing on the torch from my mom, to me, to my daughter today. Kinda sweet. ;-)

What did you do to celebrate today?

Tomorrow: Thank a Mail Man Day
